Oneida County Department on Aging
The Oneida County Department on Aging offers a variety of programs and information related to older adults. The mission of the Department is to “be a spokesperson for the interests and concerns of Oneida County residents age 60 and over, as well as to initiate, coordinate, and administer programs which help older adults remain active, contributing members of the community”.
Oneida County Department of Social Services
The Oneida County Department of Social Services administers programs which provide financial assistance for all age groups (i.e. Medical Assistance, Food Share, Low Income Energy Assistance, etc.) as well as programs specifically geared to those individuals who are elderly or have a long term physical disability (i.e., Community Options Program, Community Integration Program, Supportive Home Care Program, etc.) This is also the lead agency for investigating Adult Protective Service referrals and for completing guardianships and protective placements for individuals deemed incompetent.
